ModusLink OCS Streamlines License and Entitlement Management Processes for Software and Digital Content Providers with Release 18 of Poetic

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul. 23, 2009-- ModusLink Open Channel Solutions, Inc. (ModusLink OCS) today announced the general availability of Release 18 of its Poetic® Licensing Management System. Poetic streamlines license and entitlement management processes and operations for software publishers, digital content providers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) enabling them to increase renewal conversion rates, gain greater control over licensing programs and enhance relationships with customers and channel partners. ModusLink OCS is a subsidiary of ModusLink Global Solutions™, Inc. (NASDAQ:MLNK) which provides global supply chain business process management solutions.

As part of its ongoing commitment to address the evolving needs of its client base, ModusLink OCS has integrated more than 50 enhancements into its Poetic product with Release 18. The enhancements empower users with additional activation functionality and report options as well as further user interface (UI) and performance improvements. Release 18 also includes refinements to the Poetic Electronic Software Download (ESD) Solution.

Poetic Release 18’s significant enhancements include:

  • Report Re-architecture – The reporting engine, which delivers reports to improve enterprise asset management, now allows clients to write custom reports more easily, supports transfer of reports from instance to instance and simplifies localization.
  • Activation Enhancements – Poetic now supports the ability to automatically trigger the activation process when entitlements are created. Release 18 also supports display of historical keys and features regular and batch activation UI improvements.
  • New ESD Application Programming Interface (API) – Clients can now access download eligibility details through a simple request to Poetic enabling convenient downloading models for their users.
